2. Market overview
The market firmed, with attention picking up and trading volume rising clearly. Continued Middle East conflict kept crude and basic chemicals firm, adding to upstream plant costs, while downstream customers resumed production after the national holidays and increased restocking, pushing volumes above the previous week. The composite and herbicide indices rebounded month on month, and the insecticide index turned positive year on year.
Of the more than 100 products tracked, 66% fell, 7% were unchanged and 27% rose year on year; month on month, 37% fell, 53% were unchanged and 10% rose.
