2. Market overview
The market remained in off-season consolidation with attention picking up and trading limited to essential needs. Basic chemicals moved sideways, upstream operating rates rose gradually, export order growth stayed limited, and downstream customers entered their cash-collection period. Geopolitical friction continued to unsettle crude and basic chemical prices, leaving logistics and export trade uncertain and the industry broadly in a standoff. Glyphosate firmed as methanol and other feedstock costs rose, with producers showing a strong intention to hold prices.
Of the more than 100 products tracked, 68% fell, 8% were unchanged and 24% rose year on year; month on month, 44% fell, 52% were unchanged and 4% rose.
