2. Market overview
The market remained in its traditional demand off-season with new-cycle restocking still in the works. Terminal buyers drew down inventory and bought for immediate needs, keeping trading generally unremarkable. Inspections continued, output cuts and maintenance kept operating rates at a phase low, and with limited cost support prices for products with firm demand held while most mainstream technicals drifted softer.
Of the more than 100 products tracked, 63% fell, 10% were unchanged and 27% rose year on year; month on month, 32% fell, 63% were unchanged and 5% rose.
