2. Market overview
The market ran weak and broadly flat in its traditional demand off-season. Terminal restocking interest was low and downstream processors and distributors mainly drew down inventory or bought for immediate needs, slowing the pace of trade. Ongoing safety and environmental inspections in some production regions, with output cuts and maintenance at a few plants, offered mild support to tight products. Feedstock prices moved little and cost support stayed limited, with clear divergence between categories.
Of the more than 100 products tracked, 64% fell, 11% were unchanged and 25% rose year on year; month on month, 38% fell, 59% were unchanged and 3% rose.
